“ Who doesn't love summer rolls? Well, at least I do. I crave summer rolls almost at least once a week. I love that the Temple City location doesn't go on vacation as much as the Rosemead location. Also you can get some drinks here too! Parking can be a little annoying at time since there is so many other businesses in this plaza. Service is great and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I never feel rushed out even if they are busy. ”
“ I almost don't want to write a review for Summer Rolls. I mean, there's so many already on here that I wonder why I should bother...but despite all the great reviews already on here, Summer Rolls does deserve another great review so let me add to it. :P They are the quintessential SGV spot for Nem Nuong Rolls. OC has Brodard and in SGV, we have Summer Rolls. What makes Brodard a stand-out is their dipping sauce. What makes Summer Rolls a stand-out is their actual rolls - they use an actual shrimp egg roll inside their roll. IMHO, if we're only evaluating the spring rolls, and this is probably gonna be controversial but I'm going to say it - Summer Rolls is better. I've had their Banh Mi too, which is good but I'm OG and prefer a french roll or baguette rather than a ciabatta. There's better legit banh mi places in SGV, but if you're really craving a Banh Mi and you're not down for the traditional cold cuts, Summer Rolls' one is a good option. Have also had their Bun (vermicelli bowls) and the Com Tam (broken rice plates) - both are delicious but I'm a rice girl so I almost always get the Com Tam too. I love this place. It's delicious! Oh, and if you're into craft beer or beer, they have beer here. While there's nothing like a slice of pizza and a pint of beer...I'm sure you'll also find there's nothing like some Nem Nuong spring rolls with some beer or your beer with some spring rolls. What are you even waiting for? Roll on over and eat yourself some Summer Rolls! ”
“ Got here around 4:30 for an early Saturday dinner and got seated right away. They have a beautiful semi-outdoor area with tons of natural light! I got #18 on the menu which is charbroiled beef nem with shrimp egg rolls. The portion is big. The nem is full is flavor and with the right amount of chewiness. The veggies and sauce are super refreshing - gives a bit of a sweet and sour flavor that pair very well with the nem! Service was awesome! When I asked about to go box, they kindly asked if I want a separate container for the sauce. Maybe they've changed it but I saw in previous reviews that you order at the front and you sit down but I was told that they take orders at the table. There's both ground level and underground parking. I saw they recently opened a sister restaurant in San Gabriel so would want to check that out as well! ”
“ I love my viet food soso much and always come to Summer Rolls if I don't feel like driving all the way to Orange County. Summer Rolls is famous for their nem nuong rolls but I also loveee coming here for their BBH & banh beo! The way they make their food here is so authentic - the only way I like it! The bun bo hue is my FAVV since the soup itself is super flavorful and isn't extremely spicy. They are also very generous with the protein. However, I kinda wish they added bananna flowers & pork blood in the BBH soup. Whenever my boyfie or friends parents make the traditional soup there's usually the Bananna flower + pork blood in it, and Summer Rolls doesn't add it to the soup. Other than that everything here is perfect. I love coming here whenever I have my strong viet food cravings :-) Service here is usually fairly quick and it's a + that they offer alcy. I'll be back soon ^.^ ”
“ This place can be a hit or miss sometimes but still my favorite go-to in the area for nem nuong spring roll and banh beo. The bun bo hue, com tam, and banh hoi is a hit or miss for me. The restaurant is set up like an open air restaurant. The interior opens like a bar that connects to the patio. All is covered from rain. Staff is friendly and has a variety of traditional Vietnamese options to choose from. They specialized in their spring rolls and also serve beers - micro brew, craft, and domestic. Bun bo hue - (3.5/5) Banh beo - (5/5) Nem nuong cuon (5/5) Lemongrass beef Banh Hoi (4/5) Lemongrass beef com tam (3.5/5) Overall 4/5 for me ”
“ I am obsessed with the steamed rice cakes and the spring rolls!! I have made plenty of trips here just for those two things when I've had a craving for it and it's so worth it!! The rice cakes are so cute and perfect I love that they're little. I love the crunch of the egg roll in the spring roll. Delicious. Inside the restaurant is clean and lively. Plenty of tables to dine in. Parking can be difficult to find but don't worry there is a parking garage! ”
“ I always love Summer Rolls. I have been coming to this location and the location in Rosemead for years! Nem cuon (5/5): The pork summer rolls is my go-to order. This will always be my favorite. The pork is so juicy and flavorful. The veggies make it so fresh and are a nice contrast to the charbroiled pork. The shrimp roll gives such a nice crunch. The sauce is also always so good! I usually spoon it onto the roll. Nem bo cuon (4/5): I definitely think the beef is good but not as good as the pork. It is still very good and nicely charbroiled. Bun ga xa (4/5): I love bun. The lemongrass flavor wasn't too strong on the chicken but everything was good. The veggies are fresh and the noodles were bouncy. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The resturant is located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking. It does get busy at night since there are a lot of different places. This location is definitely more hip and modern. ”
“ I have never had a bad meal here! Today was no exception. If you're looking for the best Bahn Mi or just looking for good food in general, this is the spot. Not my first time nor my last! Summer Rolls is a family owned mom n pop type corner mall kinda place I absolutely love! If you've read my other reviews, you know. This is a restaurant that is run more like a deli and even feels like a pub! With indoor, outdoor and bar seating, you can't go wrong with whatever your lunch plans call for. The service is extremely helpful and though some items have a little wait, they are well worth it! And even better news, they are opening one in San Gabriel very soon. But don't wait for San Gabriel. Get to the Temple City store asap and get your pallet in a frenzy! ”
“ Came here several times and my go-to order is always Bún Nem Nuóng and Bánh Bèo. The service is relatively fast, and the atmosphere reminds me of eating by the beach, with large open windows for great circulation. The Bún Nem Nuóng was delicious. The charred from the pork helped enhanced the flavor and it was also quite juicy. The vegetables were fresh but sometimes the lettuce can be a bit wilted. Regardless, the vegetables provided a variety of texture and complement one another. I'm also glad they provided a generous amount each time. The egg roll wraps were very crunchy. The noodles were cooked to perfection without any breakage upon lifting it. The sauce had a great amount of fish sauce and got me wanting more. The Bánh Bèo is either a hit or a miss. For the most part, it's always on point. The flour was able to come out from the plate easily. The shrimp powder was generously added. The croutons were crunchy and tasty with mild shrimp flavor. The sauce was again, delicious. Overall, this restaurant is my go-to whenever I'm craving these entrees. The ambiance is nice. The food is always tasty and presentable. They offer unique beer. Affordable prices. Amazing service. Easy parking. ”
“ Every time we come south, my daughter always recommends this place. Their other location just closed. I am glad we finally got a chance to come! Quality/Quantity - After a LONG drive from NV to the North Bay yesterday, and an even longer drive from the North Bay to Southern CA, I NEEDED a beer. Well, if you are following, you know that I always get a beer after I get "home" from a long drive. Well, interesting beers and brands and generous samples. I settled for the Delirium Tremens. Smooth, but I would have preferred a pint. About to order a second when my daughter suggested we go to the brewery Ogopogo. Heck yeah! Anyways, for dinner, we had the following: #8 Ga Sa Cuon - Chicken Spring Roll. My favorite of all the dishes. Generous chicken. I really enjoyed the fried eggroll that was fried to perfection inside the spring roll. It added different textures and flavors to this roll. #22 Banh Beo - One of their signature dishes. A must try. I would have preferred a little thicker rice cakes. But both my wife and daughter really enjoyed this. #24 Banh Hoi - We chose pork for this dish. Self wrap in lettuce and dipped in the spicy fish sauce. So fresh and tasty. Both my wife and daughter rated this as their favorite dish. Atmosphere - Love the indoor/outdoor space. Cool decor. Semi open kitchen. Clean bathrooms. Service - 5 stars. The waitress and female bartender were both friendly and welcoming. The male employee was not as welcoming (not a complaint), but he was a hard worker. Price - $57 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2016. My daughter is a regular customer (at both locations, sorry about the closure) and we will be too. ”
